Julie's Tutoring Policy

 

 

TUITION & FEES

Tutoring services are provided on a contract basis for the duration of the scholastic year. Payment shall be made monthly in advance at the beginning of each month once a regular schedule is agreed upon.

 

SCHEDULES

Tutoring frequency is a minimum of one hour per week during the school year and minimum two hours per week for algebra two (school breaks are optional), and every week thereafter as mutually agreed upon by Tutor and Student’s parent. We do not allow vacation times outside of the major school breaks; so the Student will be charged the regular rate if they decide to take time off outside of the school breaks. Major breaks include Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mid-winter, and Spring break. Other school holidays are not considered a holiday for us.

Sessions are 55 minutes long and offered only via Zoom or other apps at this time.

 

CANCELLATION BY STUDENT

Fees are based upon the Student's undertaking to attend all sessions as stipulated in their schedule. The sessions are private (one-on-one), and last minute cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows shall be charged at the full rate. If the Tutor receives a cancellation notice more than 24 hours in advance of the scheduled start time, we will try to accommodate makeups within the same week, so the Student does not lose tuition. The Student is allowed six cancellations per school year, which means those sessions can be rescheduled. Outside of that, the Student will be charged the full rate without a makeup.

No adjustment shall be made for time lost because of late start time by the Student unless agreed upon in advance. Please make sure your Student is punctual since we usually have Students back-to-back, and we cannot extend the time if the Student is late. Forgetting to show up for a lesson without advanced notice, forfeits your tuition for that session.

 

CANCELLATION BY TUTOR

If the Tutor cancels a lesson by giving 24 hours prior notice to the Student,  the Tutor shall reschedule the session at a time agreeable to both parties within a two-week period. If the Student’s regular Tutor is not available to do a makeup within a week or two, the Parent needs to notify Julie right away, so that she can schedule the session with another Tutor. If that cannot be accommodated in any way, then a credit will be issued.

 

NO WARRANTIES

The Tutor makes no promises or warranties with regards to a Student's performance as a result of any tutoring provided. It takes a while for a Student’s grades in school to improve, and it depends on the Student’s ability and efforts.

 

TERMINATION

This tutoring contract may be terminated by either party at any time by giving the other party two weeks prior notice either in written form or via email.
